THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL MARKETS DINNER 2019 IN AID OF GO DHARMIC – A HUGE SUCCESS!

On the 18th September 2019, India and UK based charitable organization Go Dharmic hosted the First International Financial Markets Dinner in Mumbai, India.

It was an amazing evening, with some of the largest financial companies in the World in attendance to network and discuss corporate social responsibility. The event took place at the beautiful Mumbai Cricket Association Club, Bandra. The theme was traditional Indian attire, and the efforts made by our guests was astounding and it made the evening all the more fun.

The event was sponsored by the Bombay Stock Exchange, The Montreal Exchange, and Eurex. Their support along with the organizing partners FOW made this event a great success together.

With a full house of global financial market players, attendees from more than 85 companies joined tables being sponsored by Marex Spectron, MOEX, Hong Kong Exchange, London Metal Exchange, Globe Capital, BSE, TMX, Trading Technologies, Sova Capital, Stellar Trading, Eurex, Futures First, Nine Square, and DME.

The evening was hosted by Go Dharmic Director of Marketing Sonal Jain, and we had talks from numerous people, including the Go Dharmic Founder & Chairman Hemal Randerwala, who said:

To have the global financial markets community gather in Mumbai to support our social action campaigns is truly heartwarming. I’m sure there was some business talk too, but at the core of the gathering, there was a genuine desire for corporate compassion, love and service. We will be launching a number of charitable initiatives with many Financial market companies post this event.

I hope that this event will become fixed on the annual calendar as a day when we gather some of the biggest financial firms in the world, some of the smartest minds in the world together in Mumbai to ask questions about what we can do for the underprivileged members of our societies. What can do to develop education for all? What can we do to save our environment? How can we reduce physical, mental and emotional suffering in our World? Our shape a future campaign has a goal to provide one million children globally with better learning spaces. It is through the collective desire to be a force for good that we can together make a difference.

Anil Batra – COO of Hertshten Group (Futures First) & Chairman of Go Dharmic Advisory Board said:

A wonderful evening hosted by Sonal, Hemal and the rest of the GoDharmic team. The attendees seemed fixated with the tremendous work that GoDharmic have carried out over the years and I truly believe that this will only help in spreading the GoDharmic message of Compassion in Action!! On a personal note, I was really honoured that GoDharmic has chosen me to be chairman of the advisory board and hope I can live up to their expectations. Congratulations GoDharmic team and here’s hoping for many more successes to come.

Chief Business Officer of the Bombay Stock Exchange Sameer Patil said:

It was indeed a very good initiative by Go Dharmic, under the able leadership of Mr. Hemal Randerwala.
It was heartening to see all major Global Exchanges like BSE, India INX, CME, Eurex, etc and major Indian and global financial institutions like Marex Spectron, Futures First, OSTC, Edelweiss, Emkay etc actively participating in the auction as well.

CEO of DGCX Les Male kindly spoke to the audience about the exciting Salt Ride cycling trip from Ahmedabad to Dandi this December. Les will be personally taking part in the trip along with other participants who will be tracing the steps of Mahatma Gandhi’s famous salt march for freedom in the 1940’s. The trip will also be a celebration of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary and launch the Go Dharmic campaign to plant 1 million trees. He said:

“What a fantastic event hosted by Go Dharmic, raising money for some very good causes. I am honoured to be taking part in the Dandi Salt Challenge, again another excellent, albeit slightly longer event, helping to launch Go Dharmics campaign to plant 1 million trees. Go Dharmic is really striving for social inclusion and the betterment of society, and I am deeply proud to be a part of that.”

Harvey Moses, Head of Business Development for Marex Spectron said:

Just wanted to say that the Financial Markets Dinner hosted by Hemal and his team at Go Dharmic was truly a beautiful occasion. The venue, food and overall vibe was great. And more importantly, the amount of funds raised on the night was fantastic. Looking forward to the next one.

Mezhgan Qabool, Head of Market Development and Sales APAC for EUREX said:

“A great event for an incredible cause. The dedication the team shows towards this project is truly inspiring, and has spurred me personally and professionally to do more”

There was an inspiring speech by the headteacher, Dipankar Paul Choudhury, from the Jagatpur Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Jagatpur, Kolkata. (One of the GD beneficiary schools). His heartfelt speech brought tears to the eyes of our attendees, he spoke about how Go Dharmic has helped his school of over 1000 children with better facilities and how they have positively impacted the lives of their students.

Attendees enjoyed a delicious vegetarian Indian banquet, with traditional local dishes. The food was relished by all attendees.

There was also an excellent auction to raise more funds for the charity with our volunteer Auctioneer Siddharth Rastogi. There was an amazing selection of items such as a hyperrealistic drawing of the Dalai Lama by Sheena Randerwala, signed cricket equipment by cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar (including his last first-class shirt) and original 1948 stamps commemorating the anniversary of Gandhi’s birth from the 1950s onwards.
