The “Mission Health” project was launched by Go Dharmic with the support of Marico, a leading FMCG company, in early 2022. It was an initiative for India’s frontline workforce (police personnel above the age of 40 years) for extensive medical and health checks.
Go Dharmic’s Mission Health had undertaken vital health checks for more than 505 police workers in four locations: Guwahati, Puducherry, Perundurai, and Jalgaon.
The project gave back to those vital workers who performed outstanding service throughout the pandemic. However, these officers and personnel worked in conditions where they were highly exposed to dust and pollution. Therefore, a complete medical was essential to diagnosing any underlying conditions and ensuring their long-term health.
The medical tests included checks for thyroid, liver and kidney functioning; iron, vitamin B12 and vitamin D deficiencies; diabetes; cardiac risks; CBC (complete blood count); lipid and testosterone levels. There were also ENT tests to diagnose any hearing problems and a follow-up doctor consultation for all the police personnel.
Masutha Begam, a Police worker from Perundurai, Tamil Nadu said of the project: “It’s selfless service. Extending medical camps like this to government personnel in this field gives moral support and confidence to us and the public. Thank you for the support, and keep going.”
“Community sustenance is an integral component of Marico’s social value creation program. We believe that initiatives like Mission Health enable us to do our bit for the communities that enable us to thrive. Partnership with Go Dharmic was a rewarding experience for us and we look forward to collaborative endeavours in future, as we walk ahead in our journey of making a difference for all.” – Sreemoyee Bhattacharyya, Sustainability & CSR Manager, Marico Limited
“A project very close to my heart – as Go Dharmic was able to serve the people dedicated to serving us with the incredible support from Marico. The last couple of years have been hard for the front line workers and with our mission of Love all, Serve all – we are so thrilled we could help the police in taking these tests so they can remain healthier and fitter.” – Sonal Jain, Head of Communication & Partnerships, Go Dharmic
The project has ensured the long-term well-being of essential workers and opened the door to future Go Dharmic medical programs.
