This weekend, we celebrated a truly wonderful moment—our Dharma Forest Initiative was honored with a Climate Action Championship Award at an event hosted by the British Deputy High Commission in Kolkata.
Go Dharmic earned the highest score, an impressive 90 out of 100, reflecting our unwavering commitment to reforesting the Sundarbans, renowned for its Mangrove Forests and iconic Bengal Tigers, Bhishma Dass (Debabrata Mondal) presented the Dharma Forest initiative to an audience that included Kelvin Goh, Deputy Consul of the Australian High Commission, and Andrew Fleming, Deputy High Commissioner from the British High Commission.
Between 2013 and 2017, devastating floods in West Bengal claimed 1,012 lives and caused millions of dollars in damages. Hanuman Dass, Founder of Go Dharmic, envisioned the Dharma Forest project to restore natural protection for villagers and wildlife in the region while increasing biodiversity in the fight against climate change. The Dharma Forest has become more than just a project—it is a promise to restore, reforest, and rebuild hope for generations to come.
So far, we have planted 250,000 mangrove trees across the region, and this is just the beginning. Together, we’re working toward planting 2 million mangroves by 2026, creating a shield against future floods and breathing life back into these lands.
This award is dedicated to our women workers, who lead the Dharma Forest and work tirelessly alongside us to restore mangroves and protect our environment.
This is our climate action and our call to make peace with nature. Every tree we plant restores not only the land but also hope and resilience for vulnerable communities. Let’s rebuild what was lost—one tree at a time.
