Climate change and it’s effect on our Biodiversity

Biodiversity is critical to human life and our planet. The vast diversity within nature ensures clean water in our rivers and the pollination of our crops. It includes the largest of megafauna to the smallest of bacteria. Thus, to abandon biodiversity is to potentially abandon our future. What, then, is a greater threat to biodiversity than human-made climate change?

The warming of our planet is resulting in more extreme weather globally. As some regions experience more droughts and wildfires, others are subject to heavy rainfall. Just as these conditions destroy human life, they also destroy the local ecosystems too. As a result, some scientists argue that we live through the Earth’s sixth mass extinction event.

Go Dharmic is committed to protecting biodiversity through non-violent means. Just as we rely on nature, nature is relying on us. We have a duty of care to protect Earth’s biodiversity and risk our own demise. Our Go Green campaign works to challenge climate change by promoting lifestyle changes that we can all make. This can mean going vegan, using less fuel, or using more environmentally friendly electricity consumption.

We will be hosting a panel to discuss biodiversity and protect it through non-violence.
