On the 28th of September, a group of 40 Go Dharmic volunteers will be conquering Mount Snowdon, not only to raise money for the charity but also a chance and experience for personal development and empowerment.
The Snowdon climb will take around 7 hours from start to finish. Once they reach the top the group will have stunning views to enjoy, as the mountain stands at an impressive 1.085 metres high, making it the highest point in the British Isles.
The group began their training over a month ago, with a training plan provided by our dedicated instructors. They have been training at least three times a week in order to ensure that they are ready for whatever conditions the temperamental British weather may throw at them!

Last weekend the participants met for a walk around Luton’s Barton Hills Nature Reserve and walked for 4 hours around the beautiful hills. This was the longest duration the group had walked together, and although many of them found it tough, it only built the excitement for the actual climb in September.
Urshna Shah-Aiyer, a dedicated volunteer from Luton who is taking part in the Mount Snowdon climb said:
‘For me it’s been a bit of a roller coaster of emotions, from the first minute I signed up, I nearly backed out, after ordering the walking boots and going on the first walk and feeling achy, I thought this is not for me! Then to make it worse on the first training session with the group I really struggled and I’m pretty sure those who were guiding us probably thought the same. However I have now found a new love for walking and I’m thoroughly enjoying the challenges and the dreaded hills.
I realised with a positive attitude I can do this!’
We wish all of the Go Dharmic team who are braving Mount Snowdon the best of luck in the rest of their training.
