Created by volunteer charity, Go Dharmic, #GoodKarmaStore promotes ‘environmental consciousness’ and open now in Hampstead, Slough and online. The aim of the pop-up is to challenge more people, with the lift of lockdown, to think of the environment- and to make conscious choices while indulging in retail therapy.
Run largely by volunteers, the new home store on Hampstead High Street, will be selling pre-loved furniture, home décor, fashion, and collectables which have been made by rural women in India. The initiative aims to be an example of social business for the community wherein every purchase has a story and a social connection to a cause.
“The perception around the business is that it is all for profit, but this is for Dharma, our duty to support and help others. Good Karma Store is a model where every purchase is ethical and promotes re-use, circular economy and all the proceeds go to those who need it most. At a critical time for our environment, I think Good Karma Store and all the work of Go Dharmic has an important role to play to highlight compassionate lifestyles.”

Many within the local community have come forward to volunteer with Go Dharmic at the pop-up and are giving their time to help support important causes and help vulnerable families across the UK and internationally. All proceeds raised by Good Karma Store will go to continue Go Dharmic’s work in helping to feed the most vulnerable in the UK through food distribution. The store is accepting high quality items as donations to resell and is open from 10am to 6pm, seven days a week.
