Join Bob Thurman, renowned Buddhist scholar and co-founder of Tibet House US, as he engages in an illuminating conversation with Hanuman Dass, Go Dharmic’s founder, in this episode of the Moved by Love podcast.

Bob encountered His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1962. This led him to delve into Tibetan Buddhism, eventually becoming the first Westerner ordained a monk by the Dalai Lama himself.

At the behest of the Dalai Lama, he co-founded Tibet House US, in 1987. This non-profit organisation serves as a vibrant cultural centre in New York City, promoting the preservation and revival of Tibetan civilisation through its museum, educational programmes, and the recently established Menla Retreat, dedicated to the healing wisdom of Tibetan and Asian medicine.

In this episode, they explore the ethical implications of violence and non-violence, the role of compassion in the face of aggression, and the profound wisdom behind the Buddhist concept of the Bodhisattva warrior.

Bob shares his insights on the global climate crisis, emphasising the urgent need for a shift in consciousness to tackle the environmental destruction driven by a small but powerful minority. He encourages listeners to visualise a world where collective action can bring about profound and positive change.
