This week we held our first-ever food distribution in Glasgow, Scotland! We’ve partnered with a local charitable organisation, called Caring for Carers, and will be doing weekly distributions in Georges Square in the heart of Glasgow.

Caring For Carers are a group of Glasgow based volunteers who have been providing supports for NHS and frontline workers during the Coronavirus Pandemic. They’ve done an amazing job, and have distributed over 6,000 hot meals, as well as snacks and dry goods to hospitals and care homes in Glasgow and Clyde.

This Tuesday, the 23rd of June, we held our first-ever distribution, where snacks and sandwiches were distributed to 65 people, and they were provided with enough food to last them 2 meals.
Initially, food distributions will take place every Tuesday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm in George Square, Glasgow. We hope to increase the frequency and to be able to reach more people!
To help GD and Caring for Carers feed even more people in need during this difficult time, please donate and help us fund more meals.

Hemal Randerwala, founder of GD said:
‘Josh has an incredible heart and has been involved with GD from the early days. Now as we partner, evolve and join forces with the Care 4 Carers team in Glasgow we can work to ensure that we minimise food waste and provide meals to the homeless and disadvantaged. This is compassion in action.
Scotland is one of my favourite places on the planet and I hope this weekly effort can go a long way towards raising awareness for the disadvantaged and removing food poverty in Scotland.’
Joshua Fields, Founder of C4C said:
‘It’s a pleasure to have partnered with Go Dharmic and help them expand their reach in Scotland. Part of the motive for setting up C4C during coronavirus was inspired by GD’s focus on feeding those in need, so a partnership between us feels like a natural progression. We had a successful launch night in Glasgow, and I look forward to seeing what else we can do together in the months and years to come.’
