Getting creative with the kids

For the past few days, the children in Guniya Lekh have been working with a visiting visual artist, Smriti. She is helping them to create artwork that will look nice in their classroom and on the walls.

They have also been planning their mural. The mural will cover the outside of the schoolrooms and bring colour and life to its bare walls.

Smriti has enabled the children to develop some basic art skills, a way to express themselves and gain value for their ideas. The children have been drawing their ideas with crayons and picking images and shapes that they like.

The final design will be a lovely surprise to the entire village community, who will benefit from seeing their children’s ideas create a lasting legacy.
