Your unwavering dedication and boundless kindness fuels our mission to “Love All. Feed All. Serve All.” and drive positive change in the world. Together, we are building a more inclusive and loving global community.
In light of this celebration, we also want to share the empowering workshop hosted by our Go Dharmic Kolkata Community Hub yesterday. The focus of the session was twofold: combating human trafficking and preventing child marriage.
Combating Human Trafficking and Child Marriage
The workshop served to educate and raise awareness on the pervasive issues of human trafficking and child marriage. With a specific emphasis on coastal communities in West Bengal, we worked to shed light on the vulnerabilities these areas face, making them prime targets for traffickers.
Over 60 coastal women joined the workshop, each seeking to drive change for a safer future. Leading the discussions was Inspector Sougata Ghosh, the esteemed lead Inspector of Canning PS. Their expertise in dealing with human trafficking cases and enforcing laws against early marriages provided invaluable insights.
These workshops, characterised by engaging discussions and the dissemination of essential information, are crucial in empowering participants with the knowledge and resources needed to overcome the pressing social issues of human trafficking and child marriage. Our advocacy revolves around eliminating ignorance and equipping families with tools that are vital to protecting communities.
