Hanuman Dass speaks with Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi

Arun Gandhi, peace activist, socio-political activist, writer, and grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, joins Go Dharmic’s founder, Hanuman Dass, to discuss non-violence, spirituality, and Mahatma Gandhi’s core principles and philosophy, as well as how it can be applied in 2022.

“We need to convert our thought process from ‘what can I get out of this?’ to ‘how can I respect, understand, accept, and appreciate others and the world around me?’”— Arun Gandhi.

Over the conversation, Arun Gandhi explores how his understanding of Mahatma Gandhi’s ethical and spiritual positions has developed — especially on the difference between passive violence and physical violence. 

Recalling Mahatma Gandhi’s words, Arun points out that no philosophy or code of living is static; instead, it must continually grow and adapt to changing circumstances. 

The talk is a fabulously accessible combination of theory and personal stories. It will be required-viewing to those questioning the role of charity, and how it should be practised in the world, those wanting to live more happily, and, naturally, those wanting to get a better understanding of Gandhi’s philosophy and non-violence movement.
