BRITISH PRIME MINISTER RISHI SUNAK VOLUNTEERS WITH GO DHARMIC!

THE BRITISH PRIME MINISTER, RISHI SUNAK, JOINED CHARITY GO DHARMIC IN LENDING A HAND TO PREPARE MEALS IN THE KITCHEN WITH VOLUNTEERS IN LONDON.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak actively participated in preparing Vegan Kichari – a nutritious, cost-effective, environmentally friendly meal that is distributed in various parts of the world as part of Go Dharmic’s “Feed Everyone” initiative.

In addition to cutting vegetables and stirring the hot meal in the kitchen, the Prime Minister spoke at length with dedicated Go Dharmic volunteers to assemble food parcels, gaining first-hand insight into the organisation’s vision of compassion in action from Go Dharmic’s founder, Hanuman Dass.

The first British Hindu Prime Minister, spoke about the idea of Dharma when first taking office, and now serving with Go Dharmic volunteers has shown how important it is to him. In November 2023, he awarded Go Dharmic founders Hanuman Dass and Sheena Randerwala the Points of Light award, during the auspicious occasion of Diwali.

In today’s interconnected world, Universal Hindu principles like Dharma, Seva and Ahimsa hold profound significance, transcending cultural and geographical boundaries. Ahimsa, or non-violence, is a guiding force in addressing pressing issues such as climate change, food insecurity and peace advocacy

At the event, several Go Dharmic trustees and lead volunteers from across the UK, including Central London, Wembley, Luton, Harrow, Northampton, Leicester, Glasgow, and Edinburgh, highlighted the organisation’s significant social impact, collectively serving over 50,000 meals a month to vulnerable individuals in their communities.

Reflecting on the visit, Hanuman Dass expressed gratitude, stating,

“We are deeply moved by the Prime Minister’s service with Go Dharmic and his willingness to join hands with our volunteers. He has a genuine interest in Dharma and our mission of compassion in action. This profound act of kindness by the leader of the nation will inspire more seva and more volunteers for many years to come.”
