GD Volunteer Meetup

Every campaign of Go Dharmic relies on volunteers from running to maintaining each of the projects we have running worldwide. Volunteers play an integral role in our organization, and we wanted to say ‘Thank You’ to them for their contribution over the years.

On the 22nd of February 2020, we held our very first GD Volunteer Meetup at the Business Design Centre, London. The volunteers were treated to dinner on us as a way of saying thank you for all of their hard work over the years. Thank you to the business design center for providing us with the free event space.

They were also given a tour of our office, and given a small idea as to what we do behind the scenes! Many of our volunteers come from varied professional backgrounds, and we made plans to how we can all use our talents to perform more social actions worldwide.

Amongst the attendees was a lady known as ‘aunty’ who visits the spot we do our London feeding every day. She collects food from local shops, and makes huge pots of steaming hot pasta and curry for the homeless to distribute every day! She considers feeding the homeless her ‘work’ and many of the homeless call her ‘mama’. We are so inspired by Aunty, and she is a proud volunteer at Go Dharmic!

We also had the office manager for Ola, Georgie Eckstein attend the event. She has been volunteering with GD for around 4 months, and sees it as her escape from her busy job at Ola.
