There was an old man in a car park, he had a walking frame and could not bend over, I saw him struggling as his shoe had come off his foot. He could not put it on.
My wife Sheena stopped the car as we were driving past and I got out of the car to help put his shoe back on for him.
He thanked me and I walked away.. As I walked away I felt the same feeling as I do when I bow down before the feet of the Lord in the temple. I felt the same way. The more we do these acts of love we realise that serving humanity is the same as serving God and in that precious moment, the old man I was helping was God. Then I was left asking the question, who is helping who?
